The Executive Chairman, Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba has received commendations from the Education Secretary, Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, over the construction of perimetre fencing at the Methodist Primary School, Oke – Eletu in Ijede.

Alhaji Odumbo gave the commendation in a statement, emphasising that he made the request during his visit to the council boss last month and on his tour of the school today, he found out that the construction of the fence is nearly completed.

“On Thursday, 7th August 2025, I met with the Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Honourable Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba. Our discussion centered on a shared vision: elevating the standard of our public primary schools through purposeful collaboration.

“During our deliberation, I expressed my intention to establish a Computer Centre at Methodist Primary School, Oke-Eletu, to bring computer literacy skills closer to the pupils domain in Ijede. However, I raised a critical concern: the absence of a perimetre fence posed a significant security risk, potentially jeopardising the realisation of this project.

“In a remarkable display of commitment and responsiveness, Honourable Gbadebo-Alogba did not hesitate. She pledged, unequivocally, that the perimetre fence would be constructed before the September 15th school resumption date.

“Today, Wednesday 10th September, I inspected the site and found the fence was nearly completed, a proof that when commitment meets decisive action, transformation happens swiftly. What began as a promise has become a tangible achievement in record time,” Alhaji Odumbo said.

While appreciating her gesture, the ES said the construction of the perimetre fencing by the chairman has made the school environment habitable for computer education as the development will provide security for the infrastructures within the school.

“On behalf of the management and staff of the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu, I extend our deepest gratitude to Honourable Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba for her proactive leadership that turns plans into progress, dedication to the safety and advancement of our children, and exemplary governance that sets a standard for responsive public service.

“Her timely intervention has removed the last barrier to bringing computer education to Methodist Primary School, Oke-Eletu and all primary schools in Ijede axis. This collaboration embodies the impact of unity, vision, and follow-through.

“We celebrate her promise made and promise kept, and look forward to further fruitful engagements and collaborations.”
